I cannot begin to explain how amazingly beautiful these Mexican Poppies are in Arizona each February. They don't grow everywhere, but where they do grow, it's always a treasure and treat to see them each spring! I captured these about 2 hours east of Scottsdale. They are tiny, but absolutely the most lovely, gorgeous, delicate flowers you can imagine-----look at how they reach out to catch the sun! In fact, they are phototropic--meaning that their heads track toward the sun all day, from east to west, and then close up at night.
