In case you don't know the whole story, the Professional Photographers Association (PPA) convention was in Phoenix this year. Of COURSE this year I wasn't able to go (when it was in my back yard) because of work. In any case, there were a couple of photographers that work for Canon in town and they wanted to go shooting. They could only go after dark because they were working at the convention. So, I said, "Hey, let's go do night shots/moon/star shots out in the desert---let's get out of the city lights!" So we drove about 90 mins from town, out into the Tonto National Forest. The next night, we did the same---at which time I proceeded to get a flat tire at around 1am. There was a LOT of rigamarole involved to get them back to Phoenix, as you can imagine..... and then the next night afterward, I had to borrow a car, drive up to find my stranded car, buy a portable compressor, and pump up the spare tire (which was flat, too), and then limp back to civilization. $279 later, I have 2 new tires...... and this moonrise shot as the whole ordeal unfolded. Indeed, a bright side...... and thus this image is titled, "Stranded Moon."
