"Hanging in the Balance" A Roseate Skimmer (Orthemis ferruginea) hangs in the balance of this plant at Gilbert Riparian Preserve / Water Ranch in Gilbert, Arizona on a sunny October day.

"Simplicity" Alaska is often about grandeur and larger-than-life landscapes, mountains, and scenery. In this case, I focused (literally) on the opposite: A delicate dahlia growing near Talkeetna, Alaska, hosting an even more delicate species of flying insect that has the most interesting wings I'd ever seen. A wonderful contrast to the sweeping and mountainous landscapes of Alaska's interior.
