Dalls on a Diagonal" TIny white speckles atop this mountain ridge are actually Dall Sheep trekking up the slope. This image was captured in Denali National Park in late September 2009. I love it for it's textures, diagonal line, velvety russet accents, and that the sheep become mere specks on this grand-scale scene. ©2009 Langell Photography, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
"Golden Velvet" Polychrome Pass in Denali National Park offers a stunning mixture of colors within its cinder cones, lava rock, and foliage that turns a crimson and gold color in late autumn. I captured this image on a misty and cool fall morning. If you look carefully, speckled atop the center ridge are Dall Sheep, adding an incredible sense of scale to this image. ©2008 Lisa Langell Photography. All Rights Reserved.
"Eskimole" This retired (and very tired) fishing vessel rests on what appears to be its final bed of barrels and brush on the banks of the Portage Creek, leading to the Bering Sea in Dillingham, Alaska. Dillingham, a town that can only be reached by boat or plane, is a tiny community that relies on fishing, a cannery, and port-based services to sustain itself. No doubt, this boat worked hard in its day to sustain the community in which it rests.
