"Eskimole" This retired (and very tired) fishing vessel rests on what appears to be its final bed of barrels and brush on the banks of the Portage Creek, leading to the Bering Sea in Dillingham, Alaska. Dillingham, a town that can only be reached by boat or plane, is a tiny community that relies on fishing, a cannery, and port-based services to sustain itself. No doubt, this boat worked hard in its day to sustain the community in which it rests.
"Above and Below the Surface" Classic land structures in Northern Arizona's Monument Valley taken from an off-the-beaten-path location not typically visited by most who explore this park. I contracted a local Native American to take me to some special places not normally viewed by others. That, he did.
"Slipping Below the Sonora" The desert sun sinks below the McDowell Mountains in the Valley of the Sun, Arizona. I captured this image at sunset near Scottsdale, Arizona. The beauty in this image is one of the many reasons why Arizona is such a wonderful state in which to live and call my home. ©2009 Lisa Langell Photography, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
