These Tundra Swans' haunting voices penetrate the fog as they dance beautifully on Lake St. Clair (Michigan) during a blustery, snowy, winter storm. (Note that as the swans looked exquisite amidst the snowstorm, the photographer--with snow and wind pelting her from a sideways direction at the speed of a freight train, as she stood out on the lake, was not looking quite as elegant! Oh, what we nature photographers do in order to capture the moment!) (Canon 40D, 400mm focal length, ISO 3200, 1/320 sec, f/5.6)
