6:30 am Sunrise Inside Rodeo Arena
From the HQ tent, the group will head to the rodeo arena for sunrise silhouette photography.
Please plan to be inside the arena and ready to set up by 6:30 AM so you are prepared to capture the best early morning light.
Staff will be available to help guide positioning and answer any questions before we begin.
Recommended Lens: If your longest telephoto is a prime lens, we recommend bringing it along with a mid-range zoom such as a 70ā200mm for flexibility. If you use a zoom, a lens in the 100ā600mm range works well for this session. A tripod is also recommended.
Please also have a wide-angle lens available and keep extra memory cards on hand in case you need to swap one outĀ before the 7:30 AM session.

Ā Sunrise Silhouette Examples
The example images below show the type of silhouettes we will be aiming to create during this session.
Notice how the subjects appear dark against a bright sky, with strong, clean shapes and separation between the cowboy, horse, and background. Our goal is to use the early morning light to create bold outlines and dramatic contrast.
Staff will help guide positioning and camera settings to help you achieve this look.
