8:30 am Covered Wagon Session
We will remain in the back 40 and transition from the cattle drive to a western storytelling session featuring a covered wagon moving through the landscape along with several mounted cowboys. This setup allows for a variety of authentic western scenes, from the wagon traveling across open terrain to riders interacting naturally around it.
This session is ideal for creating timeless western imagery. Participants can work on environmental compositions that place the wagon and riders within the landscape, as well as tighter shots that highlight detail, motion, and connection between horse and rider. Dust, light, and distance can all be used creatively to build mood and depth.
Lisa will provide brief instruction before we begin, and staff will be available to assist with camera settings, positioning, and creative ideas. The wagon and riders will make multiple passes to allow for different angles and compositions.
Recommended Lenses: Wide 24-70mm, mid 70-200mm, long 200mm+
Tip: Think about storytelling compositions that place the wagon within the larger landscape.
Models: Kelly, Everett, Duncan, JD, Luke, Rycke, Jenna

Example Close-Up Opportunities
The images below show examples of how the covered wagon and mounted cowboys may be photographed in the back 40. Notice how composition, light, dust, and background all work together to create strong western storytelling images.
