(DETAILS BELOW)

5:00 AM - 5:30 AM | Breakfast

Everyone can grab some breakfast, and get ready for a full day. We’ll go over any last-minute details before heading out for our first shoot of the day.

6:00 AM -6:45 AM | Wagon and Rider

For this session, we will be photographing silhouettes of the wagon and horseback riders against the rising sun. We would like the wagon and riders to travel back and forth along the top of the ridgeline, similar to our sunset session the previous evening.

One very important detail is the spacing between the wagon and the riders. Because we are photographing silhouettes, we need clear separation between the subjects. If a rider is too close to the wagon or overlaps another horse, their outlines will blend together into one large black shape.

Ideally, we want enough space between the wagon and each rider so that every horse, rider, and the wagon can be clearly identified in the photographs.

Lisa will direct adjustments to spacing, positioning, and speed as needed using her bullhorn or radio. Jesse can determine the safest riding pattern and turnaround points.

The goal is to create clean, dramatic silhouettes with each subject clearly defined against the morning sky.

6:45 AM - 7:00 AM Transition & Reset

We will make a short transition to a new shooting location (map under 7:00 AM session) and reset the wagon and riders for additional photographic opportunities. Lisa will coordinate with Jesse on positioning and the action we'd like to capture.

7:00 AM - 8:15 AM | Wagon and Riders on Road and in front of Mountains

For this session, we will be photographing the wagon and horseback riders with the beautiful mountains in the background.

We will start by having the wagon and riders travel back and forth along the short section of road highlighted on the map (green path on map). We would like passes in both directions, giving photographers opportunities to capture different compositions and action.

We will then have the riders and wagon move to the circled open area (purple circle) for additional shots of the wagon and riders against the mountain backdrop. This location will give us more flexibility with positioning and the opportunity to create a variety of images.

Lisa will coordinate with Jesse on the specific action, spacing, and positioning of the wagon and riders throughout the session.

10:50 AM – 11:50 AM | Lunch in the Saloon

Jesse and his entire team are welcome to join us for lunch in the Saloon. We would love for everyone to take this opportunity to relax and interact with our guests.

We encourage the team to mingle with the photographers and share stories about ranch life, working with horses, and experiences in the movie industry. Our guests will love getting to know the cowboys, and these personal interactions are a big part of what makes the workshop special.

12:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Tombstone Alley Horse & Rider Portrait Station

During this time, our 20 photographers will be divided into four groups of five, rotating through four different photography stations each hour.

We have non-riding portrait models scheduled for the other three stations, but for the Tombstone Alley station, we will need one of Jesse's cowboys with a horse from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

This station will involve walking a horse through the alley between Fly's Photo Studio and the Sheriff's Office, with occasional stops for posed photographs.

The action itself will be relatively easy, consisting primarily of slow walking and standing, but the station will operate for four hours so each group of photographers has an opportunity to capture the same images.

Jesse is welcome to rotate horses and riders each hour, or make whatever adjustments he feels are appropriate to provide breaks and keep everyone comfortable.

The important thing is that we have one cowboy and horse available at this station throughout the four-hour period.

4:30 - Sunset | Main Street – Old West Town Action

For this session, we want to bring Mescal's Main Street to life, creating the look and feel of a busy Old West town.

We will have the wagon and horseback riders traveling back and forth along Main Street, while several Mescal Legends walk through town in period clothing to add activity and authenticity to the scene.

Photographers will be positioned along the south side of Main Street, shooting toward the buildings on the north side.

The action for Jesse's team will be fairly simple. We would like the wagon and riders moving up and down the street at a natural pace, as though they are going about their daily business in an Old West town. An occasional cowboy riding at a faster pace down the street would also be great for adding some excitement and variety.

Lisa will coordinate with Jesse on any specific action or adjustments we'd like to capture. The goal is to create a natural, believable town scene with plenty of activity for our photographers to capture.

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM | Dinner in the Saloon

Following our sunset shoot, we'll return to the Saloon for a catered dinner.

Jesse and his entire team are invited, and we would love for everyone to join us! This is a great opportunity to relax, enjoy a meal, and get to know our photographers.

We encourage the team to mingle with the guests during dinner. Our photographers will love hearing your stories about ranch life, working with horses, and experiences in the movie industry. This kind of personal interaction is a big part of what makes the workshop special, and we know our guests will enjoy getting to know everyone.

During dinner, Lisa will also review the next day's agenda with the photographers.
