6:45 am Panning in the Arena
We will begin with a brief panning instruction from Lisa to review technique and recommended settings. After the instruction, we will move to the alley next to the arena to put these skills into practice. Staff will direct everyone where to go so we can safely and efficiently get into position.
From the alley, participants will photograph riders as they move across the arena with the Superstition Mountains in the background. This setup creates excellent opportunities for panning images that show motion while keeping the rider relatively sharp.
Multiple passes will be made so everyone has time to practice and refine their technique.
Tip: Focus on smooth tracking and keeping your subject in the same place in the frame as they move.
